seems to have an awful lot of doubles. That's the good news. The bad news is a runner on first who can steal helps the next batter or two get better pitches to hit.

A Runner who can steal second but hits a lot doubles WILL NOT steal third because it ties the hands of the batters who follow, and as a result, their pitch selection may not be as good.

Hey, I'm complaining, but it is an oddity to have a guy with not a lot of power hitting so many doubles.

he has twice as many doubles as stolen bases.

So, are you saying is more suitable to batting second?

Personally, I don't mind a leadoff batter getting doubles. Then the second batter could bunt him to third, which would mean he could score on an out. This year's Tribe sure got a lot of runners on base and then couldn't score.

    Thumbs up

Coco Crisp is not a Roberts clone, He actually has potential at only 22 yrs old. He is not a career minor Leaguer like Roberts but has the abilty to hit for power at such a young age unlike the weak Dave Roberts.
